About

Kumamoto Health Guide™

A practical health guide for international residents, students, and visitors, with medical-facility coverage focused on Kumamoto Prefecture.

Why the app exists

Health information should be easier to find and explain.

Kumamoto Health Guide was created and developed by Wayne Asera. It grew from the same problem behind Kumamoto Hello: everyday services become difficult when language, unfamiliar systems, and urgent decisions meet.

Finding the right clinic, checking whether a pharmacy is open, understanding an OTC medicine label, and explaining a symptom can be difficult in an unfamiliar language. This app brings those tasks into one phone-friendly guide without replacing a doctor, pharmacist, emergency service, or official source.

Official care data

The medical finder uses Japan's official Medical Information Net open data and links back to current national services.

Checked medicine details

In-app OTC records are checked against manufacturer pages. Full current package-insert searching continues in PMDA.

Practical communication

Bilingual phrases and a private device-only medical card help users prepare before speaking with staff.

Language note

Core navigation and emergency guidance are available in several languages. Detailed medical content stays in English as a safety fallback. Confirm diagnoses, doses, opening hours, and urgent instructions with medical staff or the linked official source.

For improvements

This is a living guide. Send corrections, missing sources, language issues, accessibility problems, or ideas for useful health tools.

The guide belongs to the same family as Kumamoto Hello, Gomi, and KUMADAI Speak. The medical finder is focusing on Kumamoto first. Other prefectures can be reviewed and added later.
